 Communication:
The teachers at KinderHaus will keep you informed: with daily write-ups explaining about your child’s day, parent bulletin boards in each classroom, articles in the Center’s monthly newsletter, parent/teacher conferences, speaking with you at arrival/departure time and on the phone.
Teachers are available to meet with parents for individual conferences and for counseling. Newsletters are distributed electronically at the beginning of each month from September to May. It is your responsibility to submit an email address to the office. We encourage you to read each article. If you have an article that you would like to share with other families please hand it in to the office. Occasionally, we might ask for an article from you about your child.
Parent Bulletin Board:
The Parent Bulletin Board is the most important communications center at KinderHaus. It is used to display snack menus, newspaper and magazine articles, newsletters, cards and notes, messages and information directed to parents.
Daily Report:
The infant teachers will let you know how much your child has eaten, length of nap, diaper changes and a brief description of your child’s day using a daily report. Parents can take this information home nightly.
Whiteboard:
Children who are two and older can read about their day on their classroom white board. After 3:00 p.m. the teachers will share in writing what happened throughout the day; books, songs, activities and outside moments. Please remember if you need additional information to be documented all you have to do is ask.
KinderNews:
A newsletter will be electronically sent to the current email address on file at the beginning of each month from September through May. The newsletter will have messages from the Director, snack menu, birthdays, and articles from the classroom teacher(s). Articles from parents are always appreciated and warmly accepted.
Each month a newsletter is emailed to you. The newsletter informs you on what is happening in the Center for the month, each classroom, snack menu, birthdays, etc. It is important that every family has the necessary communication to be part of the KinderHaus family.
Occasional emails will be sent to you to keep you better informed. Every family will be given a mailbox, in KinderHaus, to receive notices that cannot be emailed.
Parent/Teacher Conferences:
KinderHaus schedules conferences, one on one, during the month of January. KinderHaus closes for on entire day to accommodate every family’s conference. Teachers assess each child in their group in early Fall, reassess in December and explain their findings with you in January. At this time, the parents and teachers talk about goals to be met by Spring.
Each classroom will meet in early Fall where the teachers will welcome you, go over classroom rules, tell you about their curriculum and answer any questions that you may have.
Parents may request conferences at any time throughout the year. Both parents are encouraged to attend.
