Clothes

Children should wear comfortable play clothes to KinderHaus. Your child will be painting, playing on the floor and making many "messy" art projects. We suggest that children wear washable clothes. Children will participate more freely if they are not worried about soiling their clothes.

Shoes should fit properly and be appropriate for active play. Boots are welcome if there is any kind of dampness on the sidewalk - walks after rain are sometimes much needed as well as a major part of any lesson plan. Should your child wear boots to KinderHaus, please bring a pair of shoes for inside.

The District of Columbia requires daily periods of outside play. Please be sure that your child has adequate clothing i.e. warm jacket, mittens, hats and boots. All clothing should be marked with your child's name.

Water activities, sand play and occasional bathroom accidents necessitate that an extra set of clothing be kept at KinderHaus AT ALL TIMES. All extra clothing should be labeled with your child's name.

If wet clothes are sent home, please return a clean extra set of clothes the next morning. If your child borrowed extra clothes from the Center please make sure they are returned and washed by the next morning. Every child likes to have his/her own clothes to put on if needed.
