Medication & Allergies

Medication & Allergies Please make sure you give the teacher in charge your prescription medication, and indicate whether the medicine needs to be placed in the refrigerator until you pick it up. In order to administer any medication we will need the Medical Authorization Form filled out. We regret that the District of Columbia prohibits schools from giving children over the counter medication i.e. aspirin, cough medicine etc. Only prescription medicines may be given. The medicine must be in the original container clearly labeled with your child's name, prescription name and doctor's name and date.

Please note that if this is the first time your child has ever received this particular medication, you should administer the first dose at home.

Please let your child teacher know at once if your child is allergic to something. This information should be on the Emergency Card. If your child develops an allergy after he/she is registered. It is your responsibility to update the emergency card.
